A Bit About Us
Transforming Interest Into Action
Community Aid and Resources (CARe) has been an established student volunteer organization since 2011 that hosts free resource fair clinics dedicated to serving people who are homeless in Santa Cruz. CARe employs a non-judgmental approach in providing haircuts, foot washes, hygiene supplies and meals. Another goal of CARe is to recognize the intersectionality of harm reduction, health, and housing status, so we also offer free HIV and HEP-C testing as well as NARCAN trainings and refills for our clients. By offering these services, CARe aims to alleviate the day-to-day stresses of living on the streets of Santa Cruz.
We remain connected through intrinsic motivations of collaboration, selfless service, and equity.
